Oh tough situation. Mothers like her don't change. I mean people can advise you to be patient and accept her or talk to him about your feelings on the matter but at the end of the day she is his controlling, suffocating, psychotic mother and he loves her. I f he is a high school boy then he is probably a little young and emotionally immature (males take so long) to stand up to her (also judging from the simple goodnight) so I think you need to accept her rules and control over him for the time being and until he gets a bit older and more confident (perhaps you can secretly build up this confidence) and hope that he will eventually tell her that she is not his only priority...this could involve a wait...or you could just cut and run. Tough choice I know but mothers are forces to contend with. Best of luck and I hope it works out for you.
