Hello All!  What a great idea.  I look forward to interacting with like-minded Joel Goldsmith/Infinite Way students.  I’ve been studying for several years with many more to come!

Linda SH says:

I’ve done most of this journey alone (except for Spirit of course!),
so am ready and ripe for contact.
Delighted to have this opportunity to communicate with others
who love these teachings as I do.
I am working on The Contemplative Life (purchased on Kindle)..
its the only Goldsmith book on kindle so far.
Even though I’ve read these materials for years, I am still
not very good at doing the deeper daily meditations, and don’t read
it every day either. I got through phases or lots of study and then
breaks.  I’d prefer to skip the long breaks.  Perhaps this group will
help with that.
Just got a vanity license plate:  Thy Grac
(wouldn’t let me use an 8th letter).
When I reread one of my precious books, its like I’m reading them
for the first time. I think, “was I even paying attention before?”I suspect it shows how much I’ve grown…or am learning it at a whole
new level.
I had an interesting insight the other day. I was driving by a neighborhood church that had a sign up:  Vendors Wanted for
church bazaar.
My mind drifted back to the New Testament scene with Jesus
turning over the tables of the money changers….and I thought
what he might think of this…
But then I thought of it more in a Goldsmith way:
Don’t let my consciousness be obsessed with materialism…turn over the tables that harbor 3rd dimensional concepts and rise above
to the awareness of oneness with God.
   Any comments on this?

Rose says:

Linda, I have many Goldsmith books and am attracted to one or another at any given time.  I too find that each time, it’s as though I never read any of the words before, as they seem to be written just for me at that particular moment.

I always feel blessed to over the years understand even a sentence!

For a long time I would just read with a very limited understanding if at all, but an urging from within compelled me to continue reading despite the lack of “light bulb” moments.  :)

Only now do I have a more consistent yearning to understand more.

I too find a disconnect to deeper meditation although in his study course of CDs Joel has said that even going within for a minute several times a day is advantageous for connection to Consciousness.

Thank you for joining the message board.

Rose says:

I’m reading in Realization of Oneness p. 19 of “Pure Being”  (paraphrazed) that when a seed drops from a tree and grows to be a tree one can see tree-seed-tree but “actually you have only one life manifesting itself as a tree, a seed, and the new tree–always the same life.”
“In using the tree as an example of Life expressing Itself, what I want you to see is that you are not the tree, that you never were the seed, and that you are not the new tree: you are the life of that first tree, of the seed, and of the next tree.”
Joel then extends this point that since there is but one Consciousness, that I is the life of our children, parents, neighbors, their cats, dogs, crops and enemies.

“It is for this reason that the Master taught us to forgive seventy time seven, to pray for our enemies, and to do unto others as we would have others do unto us.”

This is a pleasant principle until faced sometimes with “what on earth was this person thinking!?!” but then I guess that’s the point…they were on earth.  To be able to remember in a stressful-person-presenting moment to forgive (or as my teacher said “let God forgive if I can’t”) and remember “…anything you do to another you are doing unto yourself because there is but one Self, and I am that Self.”

Also I’ve been working with Joel’s “impersonalization” of events.

Many principles intertwine of course, but the ‘70×7′ is one I’m just starting to make some progress on in the moment rather than one week later!

Linda SH says:

Thanks for sharing such good material and for taking the time to
get the quotes.  WOW.  I particularly love what your teacher said about letting God forgive if I can’t.  Good one!
Forgiveness is a biggie.  I’m not sure if I’ve forgiven if I haven’t
forgotten….what do you think?
Praying for enemies…..in itself implies a holding to the idea of
duality:  Not One if an enemy.
I’ve been praying on the Korea situation by having compassion for
the leader as a guy who grew up in a poor country, probably during
war time (when he was a child)…and having a suffering consciousness….so as not to harbor anger about the two journalists
being held…..and also his other sabre rattling….
I had a south Korean sister in law who eventually took her life.  Its
a tough country with more rigid rules than we have here.
Anger and fear live in the same pocket….so I am trying to comprehend the wounding of this man and lift him into the light so
that he is not so deeply motivated to “act out”….
A phrase I was taught by a metaphysician when thinking of these
people is:  “You Have all the power you need”  speaking to their
higher self…because in truth, we ALL have all the power we need
in our oneness with God….
    Rambling.
Thanks again for the reminder to sit and meditate. I get So caught up in the hurly burly of the day….rushing to do all my tasks…instead of slowing down and savoring the moment.
  Wheh!
Enough said…but thanks again for inviting me to this site.  Its a true
joy to have found you.
Hugs
LSH

Rose says:

Linda, ‘Forgiven if not forgotten’…wow, that’s a deep one!  Never contemplated that, but at first blush, yes it seems to be the case.  Perhaps, the “situation” that created the “enemy” (loved your duality reference btw) was simply my MIND creating chaos of sorts, eh?  Another may not have noticed what I mentalized to the situation.  Therefore, if I have indeed ‘forgotten’ I have de-mentalized and thereby don’t hold on to a negative situation and thereby the ‘forgiveness’ comes to play.  Hope that was “followable.”

There have been things in my life that ‘ticked me off’ and later with age I don’t even recognize them on life’s richter scale.  I’m working with that most anything that irritates me is my problem not the others.  My biggest ones are “how could they…?” or “don’t they realize…!” or similar.
On the meditation, I’m awaiting for it to “unfold” and be something I seek naturally altho at times I’ve thought of setting an hourly timer to create the habit.  :)

Rose says:

Quoting Joel:

“There are unimportant people in this world, and they are all the people who believe they are unimportant, and that is what is keeping them unimportant.  The truth is that you and I are important, and we are not only important to one another, but we are important to the entire world.  We cannot fail to be a blessing to others if our attention is on seeking and searching out the secrets of life.”

“…Every healing serves as a witness to us that here is a principle of life which, when understood and practiced, will bring forth harmony–harmony of body, yes; harmony of mind, yes; harmony of purse, yes. But to go on from there to new forms–infinite forms of harmony and beauty and good will  and peace–is the ultimate goal of the spiritual way of life.”

P. 118 Realization of Oneness

This is nice to remember on the “questioning” or emotional-self-pity days of my journey.

Oneasis says:

“There is no greater law than that of forgiveness. Remember, love God with all thy might and love your neighbor as yourself. That neighbor is every human being on earth, every animal, every plant! And there is no way you can love them while holding them in condemnation.

“People are at war within their own families, not over money particularly or over land, but because there is nearly always something that one is demanding of another that is causing a dispute.  The healing can take place only in release, and you can release every person only when a state of Grace has come to you and you realize that you no longer need power. Your oneness with God is your assurance of Omniscience, Omnipotence, and Omnipresence, and because of that you can release anybody and everybody.

“This might be called forgiving, but it is a far better way of dealing with the whole subject of forgiveness than the traditional approach. To forgive is difficult because forgiveness has always implied the forgiving of an actual wrong done, which in some way one is supposed to forget. This is rather difficult to do. It is far easier to forgive if you can see that the reason that you think a wrong has been done to you is because you were expecting something from someone.  The truth is, you had no right to expect anything from anybody. So in the beginning you actually brought it on yourself. You expected something of someone; therefore, that person did to you what you are having a hard time forgiving. If you had not expected anything of him, however, you would have nothing now to forgive, and you and he would be at peace.

“It is in expecting or wanting the past or present moment to be different than it is that brings despair.  When we let go and realize that God is only in this present moment, which meant that God was in that moment of the past as well, our life begins to change.

“When you allow God to be present in your every moment, you will discover that you will lose your sense of good and your sense of bad.  Stop, listen, be of the household of God: neither good nor bad, just spiritual.  You, yourself, have no way of judging yours or another’s actions because anything that you call “good” is merely your human evaluation of it.  Think what happens once you recognize that there is only one Being, that means your being is my being, and therefore you cannot be good to me or bad to me.

“Then, as you develop this inner capacity to listen, your actions are guided by God, and they are neither good nor bad: they are just whatever it is that God meant them to be, and there are no more moments that need forgiven.”

I had copied this quote from one of Joel’s books quite a while ago, however, I do not remember which one.  It really worked for me to become crystal clear on “forgiveness”.  Namaste’ ~ I AM ~ One As Is

Linda SH says:

Your message is a rich drop of golden honey.
I bow with gratitude to your imporantance in sharing it with me
today. It is perfect in timing.
  With love and gratitude,
Linda

Oneasis says:

I am simply an empty vessel allowing God’s grace to flow through me, to you.   God’s goodness must find expression as individual being. You are a beautiful child of God obviously willing to be a transparency for this expression as am I.  It is perfect timing as All is in Divine Order!  Thank you, God!  Namaste’, Linda ~ I AM ~ One As Is

Rose says:

Oneasis, Thank you for sharing.  For me too it came at a perfect time–now!

Linda SH says:

I woke up to this beautiful message from you.
God is on the playing field.
Thanks.

Linda SH says:

I owe my understanding to working with the principles of
the Infinite Way, the Holy Bible, and direct insight from
spirit guides.
And perhaps most of all, the hard knocks of life.
Thank you Rose.

Dawn says:

I just ran across the message board this morning during one of my frequent Googling sessions for anything Joel Goldsmith/Infinite Way. I’ve been studying/practicing meditation and the teachings for about three and a half years now, after being abrubtly jolted out of 24 years of fervent seeking and walking in many paths of orthodox Christianity. All that has been said by Oneasis, Linda, and Rose makes me recognize a kindred spirit. Looking forward to more contact. This is the first message board I’ve ever posted on- Please be patient with me.
Thank you, Dawn

Oneasis says:

From Infinite Way Letters January, 1957

It is not enough to feel the presence of God only once in the course of the day: You must carry the consciousness of the Spirit with you throughout the day. If you stop at frequent intervals to bring God to your conscious remembrance, it becomes a continuing awareness. It is in the silence and in that inner peace that the Spirit of God moves. But this peace is not something that comes to you of its own accord; you bring it about by your moments of silence. One minute, even thirty seconds, is enough if you pause many times a day to remind yourself: “God’s life is my life”; or “God’s law is the law unto my being”; or “God’s wisdom is infinite.” Any one of these reminders will be sufficient to re-establish you in the Spirit.

If you should encounter a law of infection or contagion or meet with any suggestion of discord, stop, even in the midst of the turmoil, to realize: “No, God’s law is infinite; God’s power is infinite; God’s understanding is infinite”; or “God’s presence is infinite and ever with me.” Whatever the situation that presents itself to you may be, turn from it in the remembrance of God’s presence and power. The assurance may come in a reminder of God’s grace forever flowing freely to us:
Thy grace is sufficient for me. I have thought that I had to labour, to struggle, and to plan for my future; but now 1 need no longer worry, plan, or take anxious thought. There is a divine grace at hand that provides a sufficiency of all things. Thy grace is sufficient for me. God’s wisdom is sufficient for me, and in that all-sufficiency, I can never lack wisdom and guidance. God’s wisdom fills me; God’s love fills me; God’s presence is sufficient for me.
Through grace, my heavenly Father feeds me—feeds me spiritually, clothes me spiritually, maintains and sustains me spiritually. Forever more, this grace of God will interpret itself to me in the forms, and as the forms, necessary to maintain and sustain me in abundance, in joy, and in gladness. My expectancy is of God. Thy grace, Thy gifts, Thy good, Thy love, Thy mercy, and Thy justice are my sufficiency; and, therefore, I do not look to man for any good thing.
God’s grace is filling this space; God’s grace is filling these hands; God’s grace is filling this body with health and joy and peace and power and dominion and all good. God’s grace is filling every moment with the divine Presence, which is love and life eternal. Whatever demand is made upon me is fulfilled through the grace of God and not because of my physical strength, nor because of any storehouses or barns I may possess, nor even by virtue of my own wisdom or understanding. Through grace, I am given everything necessary to fulfill every demand made upon me.

Grace is a continual realization of God as the source of all good. It does not look to man for anything; it looks to God alone and then lovingly accepts the good as it comes through those individuals chosen for the purpose. You will find that as you continue in this meditation on God’s grace for three months, four months, five months, or six months, meeting every appearance of discord with that remembrance of God’s grace as your sufficiency, you begin to feel God’s grace coming into expression in your experience : Good comes to you that you had not humanly expected; a sense of well-being fills you with a joy that you had not humanly expected; a sense of well-being fills you with a joy that no man can take from you; and then you know that God’s grace is sufficient for you.

It is essential that you become established in the Spirit every day, before you undertake the work of that day, whether in your household or in the business world. It is only then that you are insulated from the world, only then that you have overcome the world and can move in and out of it, unaffected by its changes. Learn to wait every morning in the darkness of silent receptivity until you feel the Spirit within you, until you feel this calm descend upon you, this peace embracing you with an invisible Robe that hides you from the world—the fears, hates, and jealousies of the world. Then, in these moments of silent meditation, you discover that your light is come and “the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.”   …. Namaste`

Welcome Dawn!  Thank you for joining us!

Thank you Oneasis…staying in the consciousness is the real deal and your post is the reminder of just that despite human appearances (or reprimands).  :)

Linda SH says:

Dear Dawn,
I’ve been traveling for a week and came back to this new batch
of emails. Am delighted you’ve found us too.  We’re a brand new
“family”…only a couple of weeks really, where we’ve begun to write
more often.  So don’t feel shy or intimidated to share here. What
are you reading/studying now?  Where do you live? I’m in Ohio.
I’ve read about half of the books, but feel like I have a tiny
understanding of their deeper meanings…but always feel touched by
even a sentence of Joel’s  message.
I feel that these teachings are like a spiral path up into higher
consciousness….and if I keep putting one foot in front of the other,
I may eventually get to a higher level of understanding.
Awkwardly said, but I think you can tell that EVERYONE who
comes here deeply loves the teachings and shift of consciousness
they provide.
You are MOST welcome…as is Jasha and the others.
     Linda
