Tracy Anderson User’s Measurements

So if I did this correctly, I think this can be the TA fan-club’s spot to post numerical progress (weigh-ins, body measurements, etc.).

Cool!  TY!  Now if I can get a proper tape measure… I only have a standard one you’d use for around the house, not a sewing one lol.

I last took my measurements on January 10th, so these numbers are the result of three weeks of working out with TA.

Inches Lost:

Upper Arms: .5
Thighs: 0 !?!
Hips (measured at hipbone): 1.0
Waist: I gained an inch!??!!! - This measurement freaked me out, but then I realized I am in the midst of PMS, so this must be “bloat” - ugggghhh!

Pounds Lost:
5

I have been watching what I eat, but definitely NOT dieting!  For exercise, I try to work out EVERY day, but usually skip one day a week.  I’ve been alternating “Tracy Days” (Mat Workout or Post Pregnancy Workout with about 15 minutes of Dance Aerobics) with “Cardio Days” where I do some other form of cardio (aerobics, walking, stationary bike) for 40 - 50 minutes.  I’m still recovering from bad shin splints, so I am trying to increase the cardio as much as possible without over-stressing my joints.  Needless to say, I like “Tracy Days” a LOT more than “cardio days” and can’t wait ’till I am strong enough to use Dance Aerobics and Cardio Dance for my cardio.

After using TA Mat 7 days a week for 4 1/2 mos., plus 3 days a week of 10 mins. cardio for 2 months, plus 2 weeks of GOOP butt:

Weight: lost 8 lbs but up 2 lbs today (that’s the way it goes!) [I thought that I'd lose 5 lbs more but I think that's been turned to muscle. ?]
Bust: gained 1″ (Target: I’m good here)
Just under bust:  gained 2″ (I guess I have more back muscle?)
Waist:  lost 3″ (Target: want to lose 2″ more)
Hips: lost 1″ (Target: I’m good; maybe 1″ more, either way’s fine; my butt is way higher than it was so this is probably why it wasn’t a 2″ loss.)
Widest point of thighs: lost 2″ !!!
Indent point of thighs: lost 1.5″
Above the knees: lost .25″ (Target: liked to lose a little more here)
Calf: No change
Ankle: lost 1/8″
Forearm: lost 1/8″
Biggest point of Upper Arm: lost 3/4″ !!!!  (Target: 1/2″ more-maybe) (Now when I put the measuring tape around my arm, it’s firm and not pulling in a yard of skin).

If I lost much more in inches I’d return to my size in my 20’s (0-2) and don’t think that’s a great look for me in middle age.  I’m down to a size 4-6 from a 6/8/10 but a different 4-6…I feel much, much more toned, firm, less jiggle, etc.  I eat healthy in general but don’t hold back with calories.  I’ve had a week of my worst eating, i.e. foccacia and cookies (homemade!!). I’ll stop that.  Every once in awhile I have at it.  For me, don’t ask me why, I eat like that on the days I do cardio.

Hi Everyone, I too took my measurements yesterday and am waiting for my dvds (hopefully will get mat today) and will check back in with any inches/weight loss.  I have however based on my cardio workouts and healthy eating have lost 2.5 pounds which I feel good about.  It is something and I will take it even though I know how much weight can fluctuate. I was weighing in daily but decided that once per week is sufficient for me, otherwise I found myself getting down about it.  Have a great day/workout week everyone!

9 week progress:

My routine has consisted of doing the Mat WO approximately 3-4 times a week, anywhere between 10-30 minutes Dance Aerobics to warm up.  Most weeks had a non TA workoutday, doing either yoga, only cardio, or another workout.

Here are the results:
Waist: 2.5 inch loss
Hip: 1 loss ( could be off, I don’t know where I measured before on my hip.  to me the hip measurement could be taken a number of places)
Thigh: 1.5

also:
*no visible cellulite in the front and back of thighs at all.  a little still in the butt and hip region, not much.  (I distinctly remember doing yoga while waiting for the Mat WO to come in and being miserable staring at the cellulite in my thigh during the downward dog.  I just did a yoga workout the other day…the cellulite is not there anymore!)
* I did have some muscle bulk in my thighs due to barre workouts, I think I had overworked the front of the thigh.  My thighs are now more toned than ever before with no bulky looking areas.
* Stomach is probably the biggest problem area I have, but I do have the swimmer lines now, never ever had them before in my life.
*I daresay I have the ballet arm look now. My favorite part of the TA workout results.

Couple of notes:
~The results could have been better if I didn’t take so many days off.  Dec took a number of days off due to holidays, shopping, etc.  I had four day hiatus in the middle of January due to being sick, kids were sick too, so more days lost there…  Also I need to cut back on the alcohol consumption.
~I don’t get on the scale anymore.  It is too discouraging so I don’t know the actual weight loss.

Happy exercising :)

I am STOKED to hear about your losing the cellulite.  I have a TON on my hips, thighs, butt, you name it… even though I’ve lost a lot of weight.  I was beginning to think I might be stuck with it, since I am wary of all the creams out there.  I’m not convinced that creams work.  TY!!

I’ve been doing Tracy Anderson’s Mat Workout for 3 weeks for a total of 10 times. No Cardio. Half eating well and I’ve lost 1.5 inches off my arms, 3/4 an inch each! That’s amazing!!

I only measured my arms when I started because that’s always been my trouble spot. My stomach always shapes up with cardio, and my legs with some sort of strength training…but my arms!! So tough for me.

For my wedding, I did buff brides for months, intense cardio and dieting….and didn’t see this happen with arms.

Now I’ve taken my waist and leg measurements to see my progress. 9 weeks and no visible cellulite!!! Can’t wait!!

I’ve also ordered Tracy’s dance workout, and am very excited to learn the combinations. Yea Tracy!

I have been doing the TA workouts for maybe about 6 weeks, but my measurements are from a few weeks after I began. So I bet I also lost some before I measured (I can tell I did in my abs particularly).

Measure date: Feb. 3, 2009
2 week progress:  Feb. 17, 2009 (14 days)
I’ll weigh myself tomorrow because right now it’s nighttime and I am bloooooated. ew.

Routine: 6 days a week, 1 to 1.5 hrs each day during the weekdays, 2 hrs on Saturdays and Sundays each. Cardio 1-2X a week (started recently). Mondays are my day off.
I switch it up between Tracy’s Mat DVD’s, the live Mat sessions and also 2.5 weeks ago started doing the reformer machine at the studio, so my results may have sped up during these past couple of weeks.

Food: No dairy, no meat, no bread, no margarine, no butter, no soda, no refined sugar (I use raw agave), no flour, no pasta-but I have tofu/other alternatives for each of these. Still using caffeine (I drink green tea). Few exceptions are that I have a few sips of milk each week bc I like it too much and I have raw manna bread here and there. I’ve cut back on alcohol consumption to a couple of glasses each week (on special occs). Last week I had like 14 at one sitting, so that may have thrown me off this week (lol).

Inches lost in 2 weeks:
Right Thigh: 1/4
Left Thigh: 1/4 (my left thigh is smaller than my right, all of a sudden, looks like I’m working one leg more than the other)
Hips: 1/4
Lower Ab: 5/8
Waist: 1/4
Upper Ab: 1/2 (probably lost more; I was weighed after I ate, at the end of the day, when my tummy is the most bloated bc I had eaten bread)
Ribs: 1/4
Booty (lower back to bottom of booty): 1 inch! in 2 weeks!
Hip to hip:  1 inch and a 1/2. woo!
Bottom booty: 1/2
Arm: 1/8
Overall look: Still have light cellulite in the back of my thighs (can see it in certain lighting and from some angles), can’t tell if it’s gone down, but it looks a little different, like I may have lost it from the bottom but gained a little in the upper thigh. However, the amount that was visible in my booty itself is now gone, which I noticed recently.
Also, a note, a trainer at the studio told me that doing the TA workout, you will sometimes see an increase in the booty because you are actually LIFTING IT UP. Great to know heh?

Hey just wanted to check in and post my measurements. It has been a month since I measured myself and started this workout. I have tried to stick to it as best as I can but find myself only getting in 4-5 workouts a week. I would really like to do a minimum of 5 and add some cardio in. I am just doing the mat right now.

Pounds and Inches lost:

Weight: 5 lbs
Arms: .5″
Waist: 1″
Hips: .5″
Thighs: .5″
Butt: 1″
Calves: .5″

So Yay for me!! And I hope everyone else is doing a great as well!!! Keep up the good work (outs)!

I thought I’d post my measurements for beginning for March, I’m a few days late:

Bust: 36 1/2″
Waist: 37 1/2″ (eek!)
Left arm: 14 1/2″
Right arm: 14″
Left thigh (biggest part): 24 1/2″
Right thigh (biggest part): 24 3/4″
Hips: 43″

Starting today my routine is Mat 6-7 days a week, cardio (hip hop abs/ core rhythms) 5-6 days a week. Trying to keep my calories between 1300-1500. Currently a size 11 and my goal is to be a size 5 by my 24th birthday on May 24th. Wish me luck!!!

Hi,
I’m new here, but I’ve been doing the TA Method since the beginning of October. I first started to read about TA last summer and I did a lot of research on her, and then of course I watched her on Oprah. However, I am slightly concerned about my results. I think I have become static because I’ve been doing the Mat DVD since October and I saw some results (abs and hips became flatter) I didn’t see a ton. I think that maybe I should add those ankle weights that everyone is talking about plus more repetitions, and do the PP DVD more often. i’ve also downloaded the GOOP butt workout and all her webisodes. I’m thinking maybe I should do the matt dvd for ten days and then the PP for ten days and the webisodes and just rotate that.
I am, however, very proud to say that I know all the Dance Cardio 08 combinations, but it’s so tough and I don’t think I have a ton of endurance because I can only get through 20-25 minutes of it. All the hoping and jumping hurts my feet a lot though.
Anyways, I’m so glad to have found this board and talk to other TA followers to talk with. Although I have not seen fantastic results I have total faith in the method and am trying to be a lot better about eating healthy. I’m not drastically overweight, but I could stand to lose about 15 or 20 pounds tops. Does anybody have any suggestions? Did anybody else experience problems like this? It’s so inspiring to read all these success stories but it makes me slightly discouraged because I do the mat dvd plus most of the cardio dvd at least 4-6 times a week and I don’t feel much closer to my ideal body yet. Anyways, it’s nice to be here and read all your comments and advice.

Hi Sae, for a daily rundown and chats, go to our main TA page. We only check out this page sporadically, just to post results.

here’s the link:
http://www.ventpark.com/vent/2008/11/12/tracy-anderson-dvd-users-and-progress-reports/

hey everyone here are my measurement losses since the last time I measured. Note that these inches lost are in addition to the inches lost since the last time I measured, which was back in February.

Right thigh: 1/4
left thigh: 1/4
Hips: 1/4
Lower ab: 2 inches (woohoo!)
waist at belly button: 1 and 1/4
upper ab: 0 (weird!)
rib: 2 (woo hoo!)
right hip pocket to inner thigh: 2 & 3/4
left hip pocket to inner thigh: 0
lower back to bottom of cheek: 1/4
hip to hip: 1/2
hip to bone: 7/8
arm: 1/8

This time around I lost about 6.25 inches since last time I measured, which totals about 8-10 inches lost since the first time i measured back in late january.
