Congratulations President Obama
(215 views)I’m not sure what to say other than hope has prevailed today. The dignity, intelligence and dreams that President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama as well as their family brings to Washington DC, the United States and the world will set the example that can hopefully lift all of us to higher states of peaceful engagement with each other and community.

I think the more appropriate question is what didn’t this day mean to me.
There was an energy that could not go unnoticed today in D.C. Seeing the masses upon masses of people looked surreal. It’s been a long time since a leader has unified our country in the way that President Obama has. Not only is his presidency a needed 180 degree change from the last 8 years of failed leadership, but it is also a remarkable accomplishment in the push towards equality. As Dr. King so eloquently put it, it is not in the color of our skin but in the content of our character. Truer words have never been spoken.
Congratulations to President Obama and we look forward to getting to know you better as our leader and a symbol of what our country stands for.
Oh yeah, and good riddance W.
