The term " God bless you" was an endearing comment made when someone sneezes, because when you sneeze, your heart stops for that split second. There have been cases of people sneezing then dropping dead of a heart attack. The "blessing" term, was intended to ask God to have favor upon those who sneezed, in case they keel over and die. Maybe you would rather someone wish death on you when you sneeze? How about " God damn you"? Would that make you feel better?
