Henry Paulson: Traitor to our Country

Why hasn’t Henry Paulson been kicked out of his office as Treasury Secretary of the USA?  He was instrumental in creating the banking meltdown, pushing through the $700 billion bailout bill and padding the pockets of all his buddies while we the taxpayers pay the bill.  And yet he receives very little criticism in the media and from government people.  Are they all in on this as a conspiracy, or are they all just stupid and blind?!

Paulson was the CEO of Goldman Sachs when they and other big players successfully got the “net capital rule” repealed.  This rule had been a safeguard to make sure a financial meltdown wouldn’t occur.  Getting it repealed opened the door to abuse and it was practically guaranteed that a crisis would follow.

Furthermore, Paulson got the SEC Chairman to dismantle the risk management office that was supposed to prevent the abuse that would occur once the net capital rule was revoked.

Now Goldman Sachs is getting a nice chunk of the bailout dollars we’ve subsidized for them and for other banks (including foreign banks).

And Paulson proposed that the bailout bill include language that says: “Decisions by the Secretary pursuant to the authority of this Act are non-reviewable and committed to agency discretion, and may not be reviewed by any court of law or any administrative agency.”  In other words he as Treasury Secretary has full authority to allocate the bailout funds as he wishes without any oversight or review from other people or agencies.  Is it any surprise that the funds are now being allocated in ways that were not intended when the bill was originally passed?

So why does Paulson get away with this treachery and no one seriously criticizes him for it?  And why has he been allowed to continue holding his office for this long when he is a traitor to our country?  Probably for the same reason that the world’s central banks are allowed to get away with their criminal activity destroying the economies of countries the world over.  They have a grip on the media, politicians, and every key area that they need to maintain their power.

If Obama wants to create real change in this country, and fix our economy while he’s at it, he should replace the Treasury Secretary with someone who has some sense of ethics, and he should dismantle the Federal Reserve and put the power of issuance and control of money back under the federal government as the Constitution requires.  Of course, he’s powerless to do so — it’s business as usual in Washington.  But we can hope.  Isn’t that why we voted for Obama in the first place?
