Are we stupid? Vent for US government

Damn.  Are we really all that clueless? http://www.techipedia.com/2007/you-cant-own-the-community-without-understanding-them/ We get in to this U.S. financial mess in part by ignoring all the here-to-date rules of how to get a home loan (give blood, give first born, etc.).http://i.abcnews.com/GMA/Consumer/Story?id=4979532&page=2

Next some of us (not me) were duped into give the big $bailout$ RIGHT NOW or life as we know it would be over.  Since that time, they haven’t handed out the bucks except to AIG who all partied in the Caribbean last week for “training instruction.” http://www.karambasamba.co.uk/html/photos_2007.htm

Now we’re to bail out the Big 3 automotive?  Give me a fucking break.  Throwing money at fear IS STUPID.  Give them money so that they can continue to make dumb cars and lay people off because of their incompetency?  And “they” at congress act like they’ll assign some federal treasury types to supervise the Big 3.  You’re just sucking me off now aren’t you? Those feds have their own day jobs and now they’re supposed to run or oversee a stupid car maker? http://www.narrativetherapy.com.au/blog/

And people, how do we know that the car makers didn’t just cook the books or say that they need money?  Do you know long it takes to do a complete audit?  Months!  To figure out what needs to change?  It’s a crapshoot.  Maybe the Big 3 just jumped on the bad economy and saw the potential for free money.

People stop being gullible! Let them “go under” if that’s what is in the cards for them.  Someone/something else will come to the forefront. All dark clouds have better days.  Years ago the horse was the main form of transportation.  People yelled about not building railways and save the horse crap.  http://danny.oz.au/travel/mongolia/selenge.htmlLet’s wake up and move on folks!

The theory is that if the US auto makers go bankrupt we will add to the unemployment but if they don’t make cars we want and we shop foreign then there will be layoffs anyway so the management gets to walk with more money from a bailout.  Either way they’ll hit hard times.

Obama has a point that if economic times were better, we should let them go it alone in Detroit however if we let them go under, it will be harder to rally for all of us.  I’d like to hear from foreign contries and which businesses of theirs are struggling.

Senators who are generally supportive of the automotive industry weren’t shy about criticizing the companies. “Their discomfort in coming to the Congress with hat in hand is only exceeded by the fact that they are seeking treatment for wounds that are to a large extent self-inflicted,” Sen. Christoper Dodd said. “No one can say they didn’t see this coming.”
