Wow-these posts have been very motivating!! Thanks for posting!!!! I stil lhave not worked out this week-should get back to it tomorrow. This bug really wore me out.
ds77-the 2007 dance is a lot of fun. For me, it’s more hip hopish than her 2008. It also seems easier to learn for some reason. I don’t think it’s as bouncy. If I had to choose one over the other, I’d pick 2007.
Have a happy birthday!!!
Those that are doing her diet….my goodness you have willpower! Good for you–keep posting the results on that. Aren’t you hungry tho?

I’m taking a quick break [I started my period this morning so I am feeling a bit worn, plus my 2 yr old decided to have a terrible twos day]. So I started learning combo #3 on the 2008 dvd a couple days ago and am about to attempt it at normal speed…I just did 1 & 2 and the sweat is dripping off me [anyone else feel completely worn their 1st day of period?] and need a break before hoping into #3..but as I was bouncing around I started thinking - I wonder if some would consider this plyometric training [jump training] which has been said to seriously rev-up your metabolism.
ok off to continue my cardio
beachlover says:
Tonight I did combos 1 through 5 on the 2008 dvd. I planned on doing the mat tonight also but I am totally wiped out from the cardio! I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to do cardio before toning. I will get up in the morning and do the mat routine before work because I am meeting friends for dinner after work. I haven’t done any toning since Monday and I am starting to feel guilty. The pressure to do these dvds 5 - 6 times a week makes me feel bad if I skip a couple of days, even if I do cardio on those days.
mrshoneyclover: I am often too worn out to work out the first few days of my period - everything feels more difficult and requires more effort!
Renaissance says:
momof4~ Sorry you’re still not feeling good hun.. :( Hopefully tomorrow will be better for you. I did my w/o tonight and am not quite back 100%, but I’d give it 85% or so… so I am happy. Tomorrow I should be golden. Hopefully we both will be.
mrshoneyclover~ My kids were right there with yours today.. ( mine are 3 and 4 ).. and they both got sent to bed early for being naughty tonight… Must be in the water lol.
D~ Happy (slightly early lol) birthday hun!!!!! Have fun, and don’t you dare workout on your birthday. LOL…. !! …. Seriously though, you still have a bit to go until May.. You’ll make it. :) (And now we know why I was not called to be a personal trainer. Bad Ren!! LOL)
Enjoy your night ladies.

Thanks guys for the bday wishes -
Off to do the mat - I am feeling a slight twinge in my back probably from baby bjorning the baby yesterday for errands - but I too feel guilty when I don’t do the mat for a couple of days. So I will start today and see how I am feeling through the workout.
great work everyone.
Today I fewer calories than usual - but boy oh boy, there isn’t much to eat off of the TA diet. VERY LOW CAL. but I have been munching on celery and a couple of carrots today as well as the hard boiled eggs. Those filled me up a bit -
Okay better start mat…..
have a great night everyone!

ds77-I fell off my new abs trial for 5 days but, other than the 9mos preggers look after fast food camp, I have maintained that 1″ loss. I’m back on it now and hoping for more without having to go for the near starvation TA diet and Biggest Loser cardio for most of the day. But, I may have to go there.
Topanga says:
Happy bday, ds77!
Know what would be amazing, if we sent Oprah our routines, goals and results and suggested an episode with TA. Who knowns, maybe she would have us on Skype on her show! how cool would that be. After all, we are probably the biggest TA cheerleaders on the internet right now. and DAMN proud of it!
belladiamondz says:
MOMOF4 to answer your question…yes I actually found myself starving last night!
…i had a huge gap between my lunch and dinner and was still hungry after I ate dinner, so I ate some soy yogurt with mixed berries, and a piece of whole grain cracker with some almond butter in addition to the standard meal plan…oh and I snuck in two pieces of dark chocolate…I HAD TO! =(
But today is my 4th day and I feel confident I can do this! Its hard and the food is blah…but the results far out weigh anything.
I am going to use the treadmill today for 30mins and then take a 90 min Bikram Yoga class tonite…taking break day from TA DVD’s to do something different =(
and TOPANGA…that would be awesome we are probably the only TA fan following of her’s out there on the internet…I cant wait for her connect site to launch, hopefully its something where we can connect with others who havent found out about ventpark =)
ds77 says:
Thanks for all the bday wishes ladies!

Reviewer - thanks for the update on the abs. After yesterday - I followed a lot of the foods on TAs diet -and my tummy is def flatter (nowhere NEAR gone) but less bloated. I will keep it up. I found the boiled eggs helped. I did however eat my regular dinner (smaller portions). I tried mat - but my hip/back was not well - so I popped some advil and went to bed. Today it feels better, so I will hit the mat soon and then some cardio later today.
Tonight we are going to Italian with some cousins- so that will be nice, I will opt for fish instead of the pasta that I really want!
It would be good to do a follow up on Oprah for TAs workout.
Topanga - how is the band class? That is one I am really interested in…I bet it is fun and hard.
I do feel like I am ready to sell many of the dvds I have in my collection since this is one that I plan to keep forever because the results are more rapid.
Okay - have a great day everyone - keep it up!

Hello all! I just had to comment on something positive. I finally got to workout today (got sick last Sat and lingered for a few days). I usually do M-Sat so I lost 3 wo days. It was really REALLY hard! It felt like I never worked out before! I’m sure partly due to being sick and my body is not up to par so to speak but it was hard! So I want to give credit to all of you doing this many times/week. You really are in GREAT shape being able to do this workout. I’m almost thankful for getting sick (even though I gained weight and barely ate and kept getting sick) b/c I realized I am actually in good shape. My arms are toned, my thighs are toned (still a bit flabby for my liking but not at all bad-keep working at it) etc. I kept focusing on all the areas that weren’t good enough for me that I forgot about all the areas I accomplished, does that make sense? The darn number on the scale vs. the solid calves I have, or the awesome lines vs. the saddle bags. Hopefully this post makes sense…I was just very encouraged that even tho I barely could do it today, it does show we are in great shape and we need to pat ourselves on the back. The body we all want is so coming so we should just enjoy this journey on getting there and then keeping it!
ds77 says:
Thanks Momof 4 for the post - you are definitely right in that our efforts are a huge success in and of themselves. This is not an easy journey - but we should take time and remember all of our successes.
I just completed mat - it was hard after not doing it for two days. But felt good. I swear I felt the added weight from the arm wraps. Holy smokes!
Alright off to eat a boiled egg. cardio later today.

good for you girls sticking with the tracy diet!! i tried it back at the beggining of december and ended up binging big time - i was so hungry. but it is so bland and calorie reduced that you are bound to see good results after the first week.
i love the oprah idea!!! how fun would it be to have tracys fan club skyped in!? its true that we are rare as tracy fans.. when i wasnt feleing well last week i decided to do some googling to find out if i could find more about tracy and wow are there ever a lot of tracy haters out there!!!
a lot of people complaining about her demise in indiana where a lot of people lost a lot of money - but hey thats business right? sometimes it fails! also a tonne of personal trainers mocking her workout - but the way they talk about it “she uses air for resistance - bah!” they obviously havent tried her dvd, maybe they watched it or just read about her but i bet if half of them did the workout they would be shocked at its effectiveness.. even a buff man!!
belladiamondz says:
I agree with you 100% torontomom,
There is and always will be tons of information on the internet, loads of bad press and reviews on anything & everything…even Tracy and her method.
Im telling you that people (& haters) who havent tried her DVD feel free to mock…but give it a try and for sure you will be hurting! LOL!
My husband has been watching me doing these workouts and he now does the PP DVD,…(just the killer abs) section in conjunction with his regular routine and he has also noticed a significant change in his lower abdominal region and getting those cuts and definition we all are striving for!
beachlover says:
Hi All!
momof4: You are absolutely right! We need to embrace the fact that we are all stepping in the right direction even if results are slower than we like. I don’t think I have ever done such complete total body workouts before. I used to run a lot but that does not even compare to TA!
This morning I did the mat workout and I finally went from using 2lb weights to 3lb weights for the arms section. It definitely felt more difficult!
Do you all do the cardio and toning back to back in one workout session or do you break it up? I like to do toning in the morning and then cardio in the evening because with work it is just too hard to carve out 2 hours at a time for workouts! The only problem is getting myself out of bed in the morning! Any tips from some of you who work out in the morning?
ds77: Enjoy your birthday dinner! You deserve it!

Hey everyone.
Somewhere on this board I read about how one of Madonna’s videos shows her on a treadmill “TA style.” I cannot find that post! Does anyone know what video was mentioned? Thanks. I want to see it as a demonstration.
doerflinger2006 says:
I haven’t seen video of Madonna doing TA’s treadmill workout, but if you go to YouTube and search for “Tracy Anderson” there are two videos about her “boot camp” - in one of those boot camp videos Tracy demonstrates how to do her treadmill workout for the women in her boot camp.
Topanga says:
ds77: I have only taken the band class once, but I so want to take it again. It was the toughest class I have ever taken. The bands hang from the ceiling and you use a trampoline also. It’s tricky, fast, and requires a lot of coordination. I’m gonna take it again soon.
I skipped my workouts yesterday (Monday is normally my day off the workout) and today i feel un-energized and just bleh. I’m gonna jump right back in today. I went out last night and had tons of wine, and I’m totally paying for it today! I’m bloated and feel gross. Bleh.
torontomom says:
topanga dont beat yourself up - just get back at it and you’d be surpirsed how the cardio sweat workout kills your hangover! lol…(yes i’ve done it)
rubydog the madonna clip they are talking about is in the 4 minutes video.. its only about a 10 second clip of madge and JT walking (dancing) on side by side treadmills… blink and you’d miss it for sure but she said in one of her interviews that it was kindof an ode to her personal trainer… i dont think its the type of dancing tracy anderson suggests because it doesnt seem very strenuous but the boot camp video on youtube that doerflinger suggested is a better example of what she suggests you do on a treadmill besides running or walking on incline.
mrshoneyclover says:
ooh my poor feet. My son decided to take his nap today [he has been fighting them] so I thought I would rock out the cardio dance dvd.. The balls of my feet immediately started to protest on the 1st combo I didn’t even make it all the way through the 3rd combo before I just had to stop, so tonight I will do the PP dvd and try back tomorrow to get the cardio and mat in.
modmama says:
Hi Everyone!
thanks momof4 for the positivity! you are right on and I’m going to focus on the good results and keep working!
Beachlover - I workout in the morning at about 5:30. I am NOT normally a morning person but I have found with 2 kids and work in and out of the home, that I am too pooped at night to workout at all. I used to work out at night bc(before children) and would eat late and sleep even later! I decided this year that I was going to get in shape and keep the promise to myself to carve out some time to excercise. As the morning is what I’ve got to work with, I set my alarm and get my butt out of bed at 5:30. I literally put on some sweats, shoes and turn on the tv. I stretch a little before the cardio dance and start in learning mode, which helps me to warm up a little. Then, I just jump in and shoot for 30-45 mins of the dance (it’s all I can handle so far) followed by either mat or pp. Seeing my arms, legs and waist getting tighter has definitely helped motivate me these past couple of weeks and I am up to working out at least 5-6 days a week. I’ve heard a few places that it takes 21 days to create a new habit-so far that’s working for me. :)
I have to say that doing the cardio before the mat/pp has made a big difference for me. Of course it makes the muscle training harder since the muscles are already working but I’ve noticed that I am a lot more sore (in a good way) and my muscles definitely feel tighter.
Happy BDay ds77!
Have a good night !

Thanks so much modmama for the morning workout advice! I don’t have kids yet, but after work I am so worn out it is difficult for me to do a long workout. I also like to cook and hang out with friends and hubby after work so if I don’t work out in the morning unfortunately I find an excuse not to in the evening. Hopefully if I can stick with it for a few weeks it will become easier.
I’m still not sure I will be able to switch the order and do cardio before toning though - but since it really makes a difference with results I need to try!

Hello everyone!
Oh I’m so excited to finally post! I have been reading the reviews and the whole board this past week, and feel like a stalker. Ha ha.
I was introduced to TA late one night last week. After sex and the city went to a commercial, I was channel surfing and came to see GP talking to Oprah about her workouts with TA. I sat there with my mouth open because it was finally something I was looking for. And of course after I watched it I started surfing the net looking up any information on TA’s method and if it truly works. And that’s how I came across you wonderful ladies!
A little about me: I am 23 and live in south orange county ca. I grew up doing dance since I was three (jazz, lyrical, ballet and hip hop). After graduating high school my activity level dropped severely. I went from dancing mon through sat at least two hours at a time to nothing. Two years after graduation, I injured my left knee pretty bad. Abnormal and normal dislocation of the patella, bone bruising, internal bleeding etc. I was confined to my bed for 7 months while learning how to walk on that leg all over again. In one word: it sucked! So naturally I started to gain weight. Mainly in the middle. Thanks grandma for the apple shape. What’s odd is that my legs stayed nice and toned besides the bit of giggle in the inner thigh, but my poor fabulous butt looks yucky now and let’s not even talk about my stomach:( I was also recently, Sept 08,diagnosed with CD (celiac disease). Which means my body cannot digest gluten, which causes damage to the small intestine. And because of that your small intestine swells and your body is not absorbing the nutrition it needs. So in short my body is fighting the gluten and thinks its starving so it holds onto fat. Fun huh?! Lol.
I decided to make realistic goals for myself in regards to my body and health. I will be 24 memorial weekend in May and would love to look awesome in a bikini for the first time (summer starts early here in so cal).I just ordered the mat dvd on tuesday, thanks to everyones fab results so far, and am stoked to get started! In preparation for the grueling (and exciting) workout I have been doing 30-60 minutes of cardio 6 days a week (just started). I’m a student, so little money and xant afford her cardio dvd along with the mat. So I have been alternating hip hop abs and core rhythms cardio. So I have a couple of question for you guys:
1.) Do you think these cardio routines will help me achieve my goals by the end of May?
2.) For those who wo in the mornings, how do you do it?!lol.
3.) I am 5′5 1/2″ and weight 190, I wear a size 9-11 (9 on great days, 10 on most, 11 on aunt flow week). Do you think I will be able to achieve a size 4-6 bikini body by the end of May? I would love a 26in waist (I’m at 37 due mostly to the CD which causes severe bloating but also because I’m a lover of sweets and carbs).
I want all the help I can get and am open to all suggestions! For the first time I want to enjoy my life without the fear of peope staring at my huge stomach! I swear I look preggos some times. It so awesome to find a board of supporting women! Thanks so much dolls!
Xoxo

So sorry for the long post. I’m a chatty one (always got in trouble at school for it). Ha ha!
Topanga says:
Hi dreams4jt! I’ll answer your question in a little bit coz im heading out of the house, but welcome to the board!
So, some of the earlier convos (momof4 & aanyanka) got me thinking about plateauing, and what will happen after 9 months or 12 months or whatever, particularly since TA has said that we can’t be doing the same workouts over and over again.
Someone offered an opinion that we also have her YouTube workouts and hopefully by then she will have another DVD. Myself, I am logging a lot of studio time, but it’s pricey, so I will be weaning myself out of there in a few months. What will I do? What will we do when we plateau? Or what about you ladies who are too far from her studios but want a similar workout?
I think I have come up with an additional solution; I am going to, and also recommend for you ladies who are interested, in a year or whenever we think we’ve hit plateau, to purchase a pilates reformer machine, like the one I’ve been using at the TA studio. At the studio it’s used to do an extreme version of the mat DVD. A mini version of the machine, of course, because those things are gigantic. GP has one too.
I’ve been doing a little bit of online research and there are so many out there, new and used from $150 to super expensive (on craigslist and even inexpensive ones at walmart online). Many can be folded out and placed in your closet.
So anyways, this might be a good additional solution to when we feel we’ve hit plateau with her mat and cardio DVD. Sure it’s pricier, but it might be worth it in the long run (and $150 isn’t that bad, either).
Anyways, just my two cents! Nice to know I might have something there in 6 months when I want additional TA routines.
Hope everyone’s having a good day.
momof4 says:
Welcome dreams4jt. You will love the support from this board. You’re lucky you have age on your side!!! LOL Your results will be faster from that alone. I have been doing the mat/pp/dance 6 days/week (2 hours basically/day) and it works! It’s hard, but you will get lean and see the lines she’s after. :) Plus-it’s a fun workout.
Topanga, I forget you are at her studio. So some of her stuff there is pilates? I have never done pilates. I know some people have mentioned they do it for the inner thigh. What’d you gals recommend? Or is there just a move or 2 I could add on?
I would think she’d get some more dvd’s out but she is a busy girl.
Now that I realized GP produced her dvd’s (I know, I’m slow) it makes more sense to me. It’s like one of her own training sessions.
Reviewer says:
Happy bday ds77!
Welcome Dreams! Since you have a dance background you’ll probably enjoy the Mat alot. Each person drops pounds at different rates. I was watching Biggest Loser and the one girl on the purple team gained 2 lbs last week. If I worked as hard as they do I’d be a skelton and you might think she would have dropped but she didn’t that week. This week she dropped 12 lbs!
How did you know you had CD? Never heard of it so I was curious. Is it controlable thru diet as in no gluten?
Sam Uppie says:
Hi Everyone,
I’m new to this board and new to Tracy’s DVDs. I started the Cardio and Mat last month and it is going very well. I’ve learned the first 3 combos and will be learning the fourth tomorrow. I do each DVD on alternating days - Monday thru Friday. I’d like to get up to the two hour a day workout but have a hard time finding room in my schedule.
I’m take the cardio moves much slower than Tracy does but I am getting a great workout ( I know I will always take them slower).
I’m 44 and have never had children. Over the last two years I have been slowly gaining weight in places I haven’t had extra weight in since college. I’d be happy losing one pound a month over the next 12 months and I think these workouts are going to help. I was encourage to read in the NYT (they have great fitness articles you can access online) that when you start a new workout regime you should not expect major results for six months to a year. So my goal is to just do the workouts for six months without weighing myself or measuring myself and make no evaluations about my progress until summer.
I’ve also cut out sugar, wheat, flour, and most dairy (gotta have it in my tea in the morning). The sugar has been surprisingly easy — my favorite sugar substitute is brown rice syrup. Wheat and flour have been harder because items without these ingredients are not that readily available. Though I’m very happy with brown rice bread.
Overall, my favorite results from the workouts are how they have helped reduce my stress level and increased my stamina.
The things I also enjoy most about the DVDs are:
1. The music is progressive, fun, and not annoying — it stays in the background
2. Tracy doesn’t spend the whole time talking
3. I have found the Cardio workout to be a mind/memory workout as well as a physical workout
4. The Cardio workout challenges my “mind balance” because I have to learn the moves for the right side and the left side
Anyway, thanks for all of the great insight into your own personal experiences. I’ll be reading your thoughts regularly for encouragement.

Thanks so much for replying momof4! Your regime is my goal. You are amazing!
Hi reviewer! Thanks for replying. I am sooo aware of the ups and downs. I was just hoping to be able to drop inches in order to be comfortable. Oddly enough the number on the scale does not bug me. Well CD is an autoimmune disease that your born with but sometimes it doesn’t make itself know until your 20s or older. I tried to do the no carb thing and noticed how my stomach litterally shrank down twice its size that month. So when I started adding carbs back in slowly I was having severe cramping, I was not “regular”, I had indigestine really bad (never had it before) and my stomach ballooned back up. So I went to the dr’s one day for a sinus infection, and explained to him all of my symptoms with my body. A week before my mom was doing research online and thought I might have CD as well. So when the doctor outright confirmed it, my mouth dropped. Normally you need to take a blood test to be 100% sure, but my doctor said it wasn’t neccessary due to everything I told him. It is regulated by a gluten free diet, not easy, but its my health and my life. So I do my best. I cannot have wheat, barley, rye, malt or maltdexodrine.
Its a struggle but I’m getting use to it. It just sucks I can’t be “normal” some days. Eating is such a chore now. Lol. But its getting easier.
mrshoneyclover says:
ok so my scale has not budged and I’m completely ok with that. I didn’t eat to good today, a lot of carbs that I didn’t need. I just did a quick measure on my lower belly - I figured it would have either gone up since my last check or stayed put…I have lost nearly half an inch on my lower belly! and I’m a bit puffed out due to the extra carbs today.
yay!!
tomorrow I’m hoping to get in a good cardio and the mat [it will be hard since Dollhouse is on tomorrow night]
Topanga says:
momof4: Well, they have the classes (band, mat, cardio) but they also have pilates machines that people work on. It’s almost like a more extensive version of the moves in the mat DVD, because the moves are the same, you’re just doing them lying down and have your legs and arms attached. They have smaller versions of these machines on amazon, ebay. etc.
mrshoneyclover: Congrats on your results!!!!
Sam Uppie: Welcome to the message boards and congrats on your hard work. You’ll see amazingly kick ass results in that 6th month when you measure/weight yourself. Ladies in this board have begun to see results in under a month, so you’ll be pleasantly surprised. =)
Good night everyone.
momof4 says:
So then are TA’s moves pilate moves? Does anyone recommend a good pilates DVD? I have no clue on pilates but i would like to work on my inner thighs. Is pilates a dancer body?
belladiamondz says:
Sam Uppie and dreams4jt Welcome to the boards!! =)
I found this site by accident as well and have become so motivated and inspired by all the strong TA followers here!
I thought I was the only one obsessed with her method…I have been doing the mat routine for 7weeks now, and added in the 07 dance aerobics dvd and PP DVD later on and have noticed SIGNIFICANT results in my entire body!
Just be confident in yourselves and know that the “sticktoitivness” is what its all about…stick with it, and you will be so proud of your results… as I am sure everyone here has =)
MOMOF4…i am with you on the pilates suggestion! I would like something to tone up the inner thighs as well.
I do Bikram Yoga right now about 1-2x a week and that has greatly improved my flexibility in general, but especially when I am doing TA’s DVD’s…my hips arent as tight and my joints and muscles seem to move more freely.
Oh and just to keep those of you interested on my progress with the TA Diet plan….today is day 5 and I have lost 5 pounds!!!! =)
woo hoo…
my skinny jeans fit me like a glove today!!! –they were a teeny bit on the tight side causing my muffin top to spew over =(
not anymore!!
A few of my close friends and even my 54 year old mom are amazed with the results so far and are eager to try it…
of course with adding in at least 2 snacks btwn meals…
honestly her routine is just way to hard to eat 3 small meals a day and not add in those extra ”healthy” snacks in between..thats what i have been doing and its working! =)
now the hardest part is going to be not getting off track this weekend with my routine…happy friday & enjoy the weekend all!!!

Hi everyone, and welcome to the board all you nice new people! I’ve been ridiculously sick with bronchitis all week, but am up and functioning this morning, and hoping I will feel up to doing at least a little bit of exercise later today! (how weird is it that so many of us were all sick this week!)
On the Pilates thing, I really love Ellen Barrett and all of her DVDs - she has a very lovely demeanor, not too chatty, very motivating, etc., although none of her DVDs are “pure” Pilates - they are all mostly Pilates based, but have bits of other mind-body fitness thrown in. Her “Crunch: Super Slim Down Yoga Pilates Blend” is really nice as is her “Pick Your Level: Weight Loss Pilates” - I also have one of those “ten-minute solution” DVDs, I think it’s called “Slim and Sculpt Pilates” - it uses resistance bands to make the Pilates work a little more intense - it’s a decent workout, but I don’t LOVE it, because of course everything pales in comparison to Tracy! There’s a Pilates instructor named Jennifer Kries who has a couple of DVDs out - she is excellent, very precise, great cuing, but I do have to say I find her a little, well, boring. She doesn’t have that “it” factor that keeps you coming back for more.
I think someone in an earlier post recommended www.collagevideo.com - it is a great workout DVD website, with tons of user reviews and a great feature where you can view a 30 second clip of each DVD, which gives you a decent idea of what the workout is going to be like. If you’re browsing Pilates DVDs Collage Video is a great place to start.
One more thing (sorry this is so long!) - I have to say I love all the positive energy/goodwill/support that has been going on here this week - as I’ve been miserably dragging myself around the house trying to take care of my children and not cough up a lung, feeling so depressed over not being able to exercise, it was so nice to take a moment to read everyone’s posts and feel all the goodwill flowing here. We are an awfully nice group of girls, aren’t we?
Have a great day everyone!
Emily

We are going to be leaving by next weekend [hopefully] to move back across country. I’m hoping that by being really good on my food [lots of apples, oranges, nuts, maybe a salad or two] that I won’t undo what I have accomplished so far.
I would really like to lose another half inch or atleast something in my saddlebag area by April 1st [my 30th], I am a real pear shape girl, I gain first in my thighs and butt and lose there last.
Our house has a pool so maybe adding some swimming in will help too. I don’t know how long it will take for our belongings to get to us [they have 3-21 days to get it across country] but I am keeping a portable DVD player with us for my son on the trip so I can workout to a really tiny Tracy lol. so no excuses on why I can’t workout once we are home. I also really want to try and eat a lot more fruits, veggies, and nuts like I did before we moved to this cold place that makes me want to hibernate.
I have decided I’m going to Tivo Dollhouse so I can focus on working out and I will watch it Sat when there is nothing on TV

Good morning ladies!
Okay so the posts have been great and thanks again for all the bday wishes! Last nights dinner was delicious - I enjoyed it, but definitely am paying for the glass and half of wine (i know, I am a cheap date) I feel sluggish this morning and bloated. gross. But the pasta/shrimp/bread was yummy. worth it? jury is still out on that.
Bella - 5 pounds! WOWOW! That is great! Congrats! I want to stick to Tracy’s diet - but I don’t really eat meat - so I am at a loss when it comes to those meals. Anyone have any suggestions?
That loss is incredibly motivating - what snacks are you putting in between?
I am going to bust out the dance cardio 08 today and see how that goes. Maybe I can pick some more of the combos up - and sweat out this food. In order to do that workout, I have to wait until nighttime when the kids are asleep or else I have no place to do it. So let’s see….
Will check back later. TGIF and welcome new folks to the boards. :)

DS77……first i want to say thanks! I feel great!
secondly and most importantly….I DONT EAT MEAT EITHER!!!!! lol!
Im a so-called “pescatarian” I eat dairy, eggs, fish…BUT no meat and/or pultry…been that way for going on 15 years!
What i did was a lot of research to those “mock” meat products that are out there….some of them (Morningstar farms) have a certain ingredient in them which is badddd for you!!…i forget exactly the entire name of it, (its one i cant spell or pronounce) and ive been subbing in the grilled chikn and tofurkey…i do eat the seabass and salmon though…i shop at Fairway supermarket they have loads and loads of vegan and vegetarian products.
let me know if I can help you out with any more suggestions..
oh and snacks…I eat mainly the snacks that she suggests
I will have one snack between lunch and dinner…i eat about a cup of mixed berries, a soy yogurt, soy pudding, sugar-free Jell-O, or a kashi bar, and then after dinner if i am still hungry (after sipping on two cups of decaf green tea to help curb my appetite) I will have a soy pudding cup or one of the other items i mentioned earlier…
ds77 says:
Oh Bella - thanks for the reply…
Which grilled chicken and tofurky do you buy? how do dyou prepare it? i havent tried those yet - do you do the veggie bacon? i have the one morningstar makes….do you use a different brand? also which kashi cereal do you eat - there are SO many out there…
thanks for sharing info - really helps!
belladiamondz says:
DS77
I got grilled chicken patties they are from Garden-Burger, I just pop those in the microwave or throw them on the George Forman grill in minutes they are ready and believe it or not they taste like char-grilled chicken patties.
I also purchased another brand..I will hae to check in my freezer when i get home tonite on the brand,..they make vegan chicken breasts and vegan “fresh oven roasted turkey”…I tasted the chicken but not the turkey yet…I will let you know how that is…
….and the Tofurkey I bought is sliced like deli meat, they have a few flavors..the brand is ”tofurkey”
Also, seitan is great (buy it unseasoned!!)
It is made from wheat gluten and is a great chicken replacement….my husband and I actually made them for superbowl sunday as a mock buffalo chicken wing platter!! they were great and healthy for you!!
how do dyou prepare it? i havent tried those yet - do you do the veggie bacon? i have the one morningstar makes….do you use a different brand? also which kashi cereal do you eat - there are SO many out there…
thanks for sharing info - really helps!
belladiamondz says:
Oh DS77
I forgot…the Kashi Cereal I eat is the Heart to Heart-Honey Toasted and the one with the dried stawberries and rasberries…I had no rhyme or reason as to why I got those..
The one thing I do know is that any of the Kashi “crunch” cereals do have more sugar and cals.
and lastly, the Veggie bacon ..Yves makes good veggie bacon and so does LiteLife .
ds77 says:
thanks SO much bella - this will be helpful. I will buy the items you mentiond above - maybe you can post the seitan recipe when you have time (the mock bbq wings) sounds good.
yeah def let me knwo the brands of theothers veggie items you are eating. i will try the yves and litelife veggie bacon items too.
thanks again super helpful!

Hello everyone! Welcome Newbies – you will be amazed with your results! After doing TA for a while, I absolutely can’t imagine going back to other methods of working out. The only problem for me is the time commitment. 2 hours a day is tough, so I often break it up or just do 30 minutes of cardio with the toning.
I would love it if Tracy would come out with a video that had 30 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of toning for a quicker version! I know it would not be as effective, but it would be great for days when doing both mat or pp and cardio is not possible.
Bella – I am also curious as to which Kashi cereal you eat. I am not following the TA diet right now but I always eat Kashi Go Lean cereal for breakfast. There are several different ones, and some are very high calorie even though they sound healthy! Kashi Go Lean Crunch has a lot more calories per serving than just the regular Kashi Go Lean, so it can be deceiving! Their lowest calorie cereal is the puffed cereal, but that one doesn’t keep me full for long enough! I wonder which one Tracy recommends?
For you people interested in pilates, I like the Winsor Pilates videos. They have several videos including videos for “target” areas. I have one for butt and thighs that is only 20 minutes long so it would be good to add to TA workouts since it’s not too long but still works the inner thigh. Mari Winsor can get a little annoying though after a while.
TGIF!!! J
beachlover says:
Bella - I just saw your reply about the cereal after I posted! Thanks!
belladiamondz says:
Not a problem..I am glad I could help.
I have to admit being a vegetarian myself I doubted that I could do this diet and have it be effective…but it is! =)
The buffalo seitan recipe…what we did was just take a basic boneless buffalo wing recipe and sub in the mock chicken…and obviousy insteading of deep frying it I just sauteed all the ingredient together in a big wock with some olive oil.
I also just wanted to add…ill be short I promise…
tonite i am going out to a Poker Game Party…where I will be tempted by pizza, chips, soda, wine, beer (all the items I am BANNED from eating)
So…I just ordered a huge fruit platter (mangos, pineapple, berries, kiwis, melons, apples…etc) to bring over so that I can eat and snack on something without feeling deprived while watching everyone pig out! I am sure the other women there will appreciate the healthy snack Ive brought & hopefully I dont fall into temptation!
***gotta be strong!***
Reviewer says:
Bella–me too. I don’t eat any meat but do on the fish, dairy, eggs but I’ve been thinking about maybe not doing the fish. I buy “supposedly” wild caught but I wonder if we can trust that –mercury and all.
Now I’m VERY curious about the Morningstar chemical so thanks for bringing that up–I live on their sausage and bacon. The others you mention, well, gag me! So I too am looking for a protein substitute. Anyone else?
I’m going to go order the book in the VentPark store about the China report on food (can’t remember the title). I bought The Green Beauty Guide book in the VP store and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it! I threw out tons of skin and hair products after starting the book so I’m going to step it up now on the food chemicals. I really think that could be some of our belly issues here is mainly food, allergies, and chemicals we put in or on our belly.
Kashi Cereal–I can weigh in on this one. All of them have a fair amount of sugar except for one: Go Lean High Protein & High Fiber Cereal. It looks like twigs. 13g of Protein, 10g Fiber, 1/2 sugar of their other cereals. It’s their best.
Abs- I’m down now 3/4″ at the top of the hip bones where the poufing is. Still 1″ down at the natural waist. I am now experimenting with my own new abs routines that three of my new excises combine lower abs and inner thighs AT THE SAME TIME! If I feel it’s a major breakthrough, I’ll post.
belladiamondz says:
Hello Reviewer
I also forgot to mention about eating only “wild caught”…never farmed raised (they are mostly contaminated in feces, chemicals, etc..) I sometimes struggle with eating fish as well…I am an ANIMAL LOVER and have a hard time eating it as well but I try to not think about it and think about the benefits of eating healthy lean protein rich fish. =)
The ingredient in Morningstarm farms, which by the way, was also what I lived on ( I have tried and eaten all of their products) is a hidden secret ingredient.
I had read an article in Women’s Health Magazine about “hidden ingredients” such as MSG a/k/a hydrolized vegetable protein…this ingredient is found in so many vegetarian substitutes…but in reality it is a chemical that we are putting into our bodies…
i posted a link here that is quite interesting…

Also Reviewer,
Cant wait to hear about your experimental ABS routine…HOPEFULLY all you get great results…PLEASE POST it then =)

Hi everyone - missed my workouts yesterday. the day got away with me.
i will get a good one in today.
That wine took me under…..and made me really sluggish yesterday.
I did go shopping and got quite a few items for TA diet. So far it is going okay - stuck to it mostly for yesterday. Def challenging - but feels good - not as bloated.
Just a reminder everyone - keep drinking water! I have been forgetting to get my 2 L in
Okay - have a great day….

So, I have an odd question for everyone who owns the first dance dvd. What does the cover look like? I’ve been trying to find a photo online and absolutly can not. Is it a close-up of tracy in a white tank with her arm up and says dance aerobics with tiny colored dots!?!?
Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend.
doerflinger2006 says:
Hi Everyday Ballerina - yes, that is what the cover of my 2007 Dance Aerobics DVD looks like - close up of Tracy’s face and upper torso, with her arms raised over her head, white strappy top, and a band of brightly colored square dots across the bottom of the cover under the words “Dance Aerobics” - Emily
bitterbeauty says:
Hi Everyone,
I ordered the cardio and mat dvd’s today, but I was a bit disheartened when Amazon sent me a confirmation by email saying it would take 20-43 business days for delivery. I ordered off of Tracy’s website and clicked on the Canada link (ordering from Vancouver, BC). I wanted to select the expedited shipping option so I could receive the dvd’s sooner, but the order page defaulted to “standard shipping” because that was the only selection for shipping to choose from. BUT, on the order page it said Standard shipping was between 8-16 business days… so I’m confused! Has anyone ordered her dvd’s (within Canada) and had to wait up to 20-40 business days to receive them?
Anxiously waiting,
BB
EverydayBallerina says:
Thanks doer!!!
BTW- kind of funny, I was browsing ebay and searched the T.A. dvd’s and they are selling like CRAZY!
One acution for the P.P dvd has had over 20 something bids and was @ $66.00!!! OH MY!
torontomom says:
hi bitterbeauty! i just ordered the post pregnancy workout to toronto and they told me the same thing - i was ticked… especially cause we are moving at the end of march and i dont even know if we will be here to pick it up… crossing my fingers that it gets here soon.. so annoying!!
RUBYDOG says:
Hi everyone.
People are sounding dismayed that their dvds are going to take a long time to ship; I want to say that I ordered the 2007 Dance Aerobics dvd from Tracey’s studio in LA late Thursday afternoon, and it arrived TODAY. (Saturday.) I was pleasantly surprised to say the least…
One other thing… if you are like me, you can get kind of bored watching the same dvd over and over.. Now that I’ve got the first four combos memorized from the Dance Cario dvd (the new one) I put on http://www.pandoraradio.comon my iphone (or you can use your computer). Type in the artist of your choice, and it will launch a playlist of that person’s music along with artists with similar styles. I created a Madonna station and jammed to a bunch of upbeat songs for over 30 minutes doing the first four combos over and over. What was nice was that I didn’t do combo 1 20 times, and then combo 2 20 times, etc… but did 1,2,3, and 4, and then started over again. I find the repetition of doing the same combo over and over on the dvd becomes boring. (IMHO.) Just thought I’d share those tidbits. Keep up the good work!
belladiamondz says:
Hey RUBYDOG
great idea about using different upbeat songs…once you’ve got the combos down it makes sense to switch it up with different music…
Im going to create a play list on my IPOD for Tracy’s Dance Aerobics =)
Im sure it will be more “fun” working out to some of your favorite dance songs!!

I’m thinking of taking the night off. I have been packing boxes all day and my neck is sore along with my back.
Topanga says:
Miss TA is here in LA training her NY trainers, I keep trying to catch a glimpse of her at the studio and let her know about the msg board and how she has really influenced our results, but I never get there on time. Imma keep trying.
mrshoneyclover: You deserve a night off! I bet you’ll get right back on the horse tomorrow, so it will be fine.
BTW: Has anybody seen “On the Road Again” on PBS with Gwyneth Paltrow? They have amazing recipes on there, lots of fresh fruits and veggies, seafood, mmmm so good. It’s interesting to get a glimpse of how miss GP eats. She’s healthy, but she splurges when she wants to and drinks wine! super awesome. It’s her taking a road trip through Spain.
I’m so sore today from working out hard early this morning and yesterday; I kind of slacked off this week and drank too much one night, but I am back. My mom has started doing the Mat DVD and she is addicted as well. She’s trying to get fit for a trip to South America to see family in late March, so she’s workin haaaard. This week she was amazed at the results and at the great compliments she’s getting from her work and from my dad (lol). She’s never seen these results. Ever!
Keep up the good work everyone, and keep posting!
Leechy says:
Hi everyone,
Great idea, to use different music!!
I haven’t written for a long time, I was so busy at the university and was doing my mat-workout. I simply love it… Been doing it for a month now and the results are amazing! I’m only 23 years old and never liked my legs and my butt, but now they look amazing! So I’ll keep doing it! Can somebody tell me, whether I should buy the PP-DVD? I’ve never been pregnant and my belly is the only part of my body that doesn’t need any change. So does the DVD also contain good excersizes for the legs?
And RUBYDOG and belladiamondz (and everyone else), when you have created the playlists on your ipods, would you post some songtitles here? Just need some inspiration
Leechy says:
Wow, sorry! I meant “exercises” =) Should have checked before posting
Reviewer says:
Hey Topanga — if you do see TA, boldly ask her to send in her answers to my interview questions from JANUARY! Her reps keep saying she’ll get to it. I don’t even remember the questions now! Tell her that her fans want her input here! Thanks!
ds77 says:
Hi Everyone- totally missed two days of workouts. ::(

I need to get to it today….Major cardio and dance and treadmill as well as mat and pp abs. I hope everyone is doing well this weekend. My attempt to stick to TA diet was poor this weekend. But alas bday festivities are done. I didn’t overeat, but the food def caused bloatation etc .
This is my week for you know what, so I dont anticipate the scale dropping at all. At least with all of this eating, it didn’t go up!
Good news is I saw my sister yesterday and she commented on how everything is just coming in and slimming down. She wants the dvds now too! Her hubby and her were doing P90x (well she did it a few times) but I think this will suit her better.
Okay will check back throughout the day.
torontomom says:
topanga that awesome that your mom is doing the dvds and its working for her!! do you mind if i ask how old she is? i know it doesnt matter the age and stuff but its really inspiring to hear about 2 generations getting great results from the same workout!
rubydog good idea about the songs, i think i will use my ipod with the 2008 cardio tommorow morning. i havent been doing my cardio in the morning cause i dont want to wake my fam up (tiny condo in the sky lol) but if i had my ipod in and was just quietly jumping that would be great!
happy birthday ds by the way and good for you for not going overboard on the celebrating! get back on it this week and you’ll be fine… we have a secret weapon in TA!
i went to my girlfriends house today and the minute i took my coat off she said “oh my god your so tiny you look like a ballerina” i was glowing when she said that cause she knows ive been working hard but she doesnt know what ive been doing so im getting the results!! yay! (doesnt matter that everyone looks tiny to her right now because shes 8 months pregnant lol!) it really really works!
Garbanzette says:
I was out of town all weekend, but I just got back today and the Mat workout was in my mailbox!! I can’t wait to tear it open! This weekend I did a weight and measurements update so that I can compare it to my results within the next few weeks. I’m moving from Pittsburgh to Los Angeles the first week in April, so I have about five weeks to give it all I’ve got until I’m moved into my new place!
I also wanted to let you guys know about the new FitnessRX for Women magazine. It comes out bi-monthly I believe and I’ve bought them in the past, but they’re one of those magazines that is about 50% advertisements and it’s pretty much the same story every issue with just a different woman on the cover. Well… TA is on the next cover!! And they usually have at least 2-3 pages of Q&A with the cover model each issue, so hopefully she’ll give us a lot of extra tips and hints for giving us tiny little dancer bodies!! =) I haven’t seen it on newsstands YET (I’m still only seeing the Jan/Feb issue), but she’s on the March issue, so it should be out SOON. So, until the issue comes out, enjoy this video clip!! Thanks again to all of you for inspiring us all to do this program and stick with it because it’s worth it!

mrshoneyclover says:
Garbanzette - can we get that at like a Barnes n’ Noble? I’m gonna have to keep my eyes peeled for this
torontomom says:
wooo garbanzette thanks for posting that… man tracys body is SMOKIN!!! good idea to take measurements before you start, i wish i had of done that cause now its hard to say.. there are definite results but hard to tell where and how exactly.. kwim?
Garbanzette says:
mrshoneyclover: Yes, you can get it at just about any book store or pharmacy (like Walgreens). I’m also pretty sure that in the past I bought this particular magazine at Wal Mart. And at Wal Mart, the magazines are usually 10% off. I know it’s not a lot, but every little bit helps! Plus, if you go to http://www.zinio.com, they have “digital” issues that you can buy. They are still $4.99, but you can download them onto your computer instead of having the hard copy. It’s just another way that magazines are offering to not “waste” paper. I think it’s a great idea and would do it if I subscribed to a magazine, but since I only want this particular issue, I really want the hard copy!
Okay, I’m off to view the Mat workout for the first time! I’m going to try to stick to TA’s meal plan the best I can, but I have to have a minimum of 1200 calories a day or I crash and have a horrible headache. I’m going to try to stick to a range of 1250 and 1400 calories a day in addition to the Mat workout daily and at least half an hour of cardio daily. I don’t her dance DVD, but I did buy one of the 10 minute solution Dance DVD’s so hopefully I’ll like it enough to do the full 50 minutes at least 3 times a week. I am beyond anxious to finally lean out my bulky muscles!!
Topanga says:
Reviewer: That’s a great idea, I definitely will let her know we’d love to get her responses to your questions.
Torontomom: My mom’s in her early 50’s and this is her first time really working out. She’s never gotten excited about it and has always dreaded doing anything related to fitness - But she’s already getting results after just a couple of weeks. She feels tighter in the arms and also her ab section is suddenly pulling in. So she’s hooked.
Leechy: Earlier in this msg board someone posted TA’s - where once where she posted an iPod song list. I copied and pasted it below (I downloaded them too). Unfortunately some of the songs are no longer available but most of them - esp the madonna ones - are still around. This is the list:
# Come to me (Peace): Mary J Blige
# Jump (Extended): Madonna
# Beware of the dog: Jamelia
# Numb/Encore: Jay-Z & Linkin Park
# Give it up: Pharell Williams & Twista
# Little lover’s so polite (The gray area remix): Silver Sun Pickups
# Don’t stop the music (Solitaire’s more drama remix): Rihanna
# Break the ice: Britney Spears
# Give it to me (Dance remix) (Matrix & Dapp work your body mix) Timbaland feat Justin
# Lose Control (feat Ciara & Fat Man Scoop): Missy Elliott
# Ring the alarm( Freemasons club mix): Beyonce

Wow, the board is hopping these days! thanks so much for posting the new video. Tracy looked so great! ok, here’s to getting back on track this week…

I SOOO envy her body! Thin but not frail; toned but not manly. I want to look like that!
bitterbeauty says:
Hi y’all,
I noticed that some of you have Tracy’s cardio dvd from 2007 and noted that you felt the routines were not as difficult to learn and somewhat softer on the joints. I might want to purchase it if I find that her most recent cardio dvd (just ordered it and is on the way) is too hard on my knees and ankles; I’m pretty overweight for my height and don’t want to push myself too hard in the beginning.
I did a google search for her 2007 dvd but couldn’t find it- any tips?
Thanks!
Reviewer says:
Okay I’m watching the Academy Awards and did you see Sophia Loren’s waist?? It was as tiny as TA’s! And she’s 74!! I looked her up and it said that she “had” a 24″ waist at 5′8″ but it looks like she still has a 24″ waist!! Wow!
ds77 says:
Hi Ladies,
Okay had a late start for my workout - but got in 1/2 hour of the dance dvd (what I coudnt do, I jump roped through) and then 30 mins of stationary biking - after that I followed with mat. Slacked on the abs ( i feel bloated) but am SO happy I got the workout in. Wearing the arm wraps and again, I do feel the added slight weight of them. But I see tone starting slowly in places. I need to put more effort into my ab workouts.
Bella - thanks for all of the food tips, I ate a gardenburger (original) tonight and it was SOOO TASTY. My hubby enjoyed it too. Also got the tofurky and am making sandwiches with that - yummy. I feel like I can eat something substantial with these options.
Okay ladies, have a good night and a great workout tomorrow!

For you that are doing ta’s diet: how is it working for you? What does it entail? I’m thinking of incorporating it into my GF lifestyle.
Congrats on those who have kept up the working out this weekend! I’m struggling a bit..

I just received the mat dvd and wanted to know how long it is?
aanyanka says:
emerald- I think with the warm up and cool down the workout is around 50 minutes.
doerflinger2006 says:
Emerald - yes, Aanyanka is right, the Mat workout comes in at just under an hour.
Bitterbeauty - you can buy the 2007 Dance Aerobics DVD directly from TA’s studio in L.A. - call the studio (phone number can be found at http://www.tracyandersonmethod.com) and speak to Heather, she should be able to set you up.
Between the bronchitis and then an ear infection (!!!!%$!) I have literally not exercised in nine (!!!!) days. I still don’t feel 100%, but I am determined to get back into my routine today! I should do cardio but I am not sure if I am quite up to that - maybe it’s s Mat Workout day after all. Wish me luck! - emily
aanyanka says:
doerflinger- I hope you’re feeling better and good luck getting back into your workout rountine. I’ve been a little off myself….started my period on Friday and had a hard time keeping to my healthy eating plan over the weekend due to the unhealthy ways of my husband and son. I have made a commitment to myself that I will not allow the boys to derail me this week!
doerflinger2006 says:
Thanks Aanyanka - I can hardly believe it has been so long since I have done any exercise at all. I am very curious how it will feel!
Good luck with your eating . . . I fight that same battle all the time with my meat-loving husband and step-kids! At least my own two kiddos are more veg-friendly!
belladiamondz says:
Garbanzette thanks for posting that info!
That was cool…Tracy’s body is amazing!
She is so super toned and defined and has not an ounce of body fat on her! UGHH that is what I am striving for…am I shooting for the moon?
I will be on the look-out for the next issue of Fitness RX…figures that is like the only magazine I am not subscribed too (they always have the same articles, you are right)
As for the TA Diet…Friday night I went to a party and indulged on pizza! =( I just couldnt resist, but I must say because I was eating so clean…that pizza did a number on me =( ughhh
I did eat tons and tons of fresh fruit afterwards while everyone was eating cookies, chocolate and cake so I was proud of myself for that! and i drank only water…no beer or wine!
People were commenting that I looked like I lost a few more pounds and asked what I was doing, so that def made me feel good!
anyways, I kinda stuck to the diet overall but I was eating way more in between over the weekend…and last night watching the oscars I relaxed with a glass of red wine….
I am glad today is Monday and I am focused and back on track!!
I am finding its easier to stick to a regimen during the week…I got to try my hardest to resist and avoid the temptations of the weekends but maybe allow myself just ONE cheat meal so I can stay sane!
Renaissance says:
Bella~~ Pizza made me sick too, after eating clean for the last month.. Wonder what it is? I’ve handled other stuff when I’ve strayed just fine.. hmmm…
Doer~~ Sorry you are not feeling well hun. When I first started back after being sick.. The first day was toughest. You can really tell what being sick took out of you. But the next day was much better and I was back to myself on the third. Just take it slow, you’ll get there. :)
I got my 2007 DVD in the mail on Saturday. I am SO excited to get started. I did watch it through and it looks really fun. Don’t think my downstairs neighbors will think the same though lol (read: third floor apartment lol) .. but oh well. What can you do, right?
On a side note for those just starting out– I’ve been doing the mat DVD 5 days a week for the last 4 weeks, and I now have started pausing it with each exercise to do my own counting as Tracy’s is off (as we know), but it has shown up in my results. I have a much more toned right side. I just now noticed, as I got in front of a full length mirror the other day clothes shopping LOL. (I don’t have a full length one at home). So.. this will not be news to some, but DO YOUR OWN COUNTING.
Have fun ladies.

Good morning ladies! OMG - can I just say that I am SORE today! Doing the cardio dance before the mat def has adifferent effect.
Feels good - and my calves are burning!!!!
Ren - good point about the counting - (I try and switch sides at the beginning of the video each day so that I can get a balanced workout due to her counting. (Though I wish she would have taken the time to properly count the reps for the dvds we are paying good money for them)
I think cardio 07 should come today. The dancing went by fast, I will try and do it four days per week with some additional cardio. I am really going to try and stay clean this week and follow TAs diet.
Have a good workout everyone!
d-
torontomom says:
Ren - i try to switch it up every time i do the mat.. one time i’ll start witht he right leg then the next day i’ll start with the left.. her counting is so off its funny - we would all be lopsided!
i did 30 mins of cardio today and was very good over the weekend with workouts and diet (well except for a few oscar night treats) so today i feel good and back on track after getting sick last week. hang in there doer its tough to do tracys workouts when your not 100% yet..
re: pizza.. probably the reason pizza would make you feel sick after eating clean is the cheese they use at the commercial places is coated with a substance made to keep all the strands seperate but melt perfectly and hold everything in place on the pizza. also the base is FULL of bleached flour, and unless you eat a lot of white bread (does anyone eat that stuff anymore?) your system will be surprised at the amount of processed stripped flour. a better bet to “splurge” on pizza is to make your own… use a whole grain crust and “real” cheese, some goats chese maybe? grilled or baked chicken and load it up with veggies!
have a great workout week ladies!
Renaissance says:
torontomom~~ I did not know that about the cheese used on pizza, thank you.

Hey everyone! Thank you for posting that video as well-she really does look amazing! Doerflinger-I know how you feel since last week was my week to be ill. I ended up not being able to do the wo until Thursday (so 3 days off) and it was hard. F-Sat was really hard but today I’m back ! Finally-had a really good killer wo. And those crazy 5lbs are now gone. Although haven’t lost any additional but I have noticed how much more toned I am.
I decided to take combo 2 from her 2007 dvd and put on my ipod and just dance to Womanizer (hahaha) and it was so much fun! My son thought I was insane but it worked. I was really sweating! So if you ever get a bit bored on the dancing dvd’s, I 2nd whoever initially said to pick a combo or 2 or 3 and just dance to them with your ipod. Very fun!
I’m also realizing I think I eat way more than all of you. ha! Now that lent is this week (and I’m going all out on Fat Tuesday) I will be better. I’m giving up cheese!!! And I’m sure after 40 days of no cheese I should probably stay off cheese b/c it’ll make me ill just like the pizza did. I’m hoping I’ll lose in the stomach area…at least a little bloating should go away without cheese (seriously I eat daily cheese…LOVE it) :O)

I think the pizza killed me cause It was of course white flour, which on the TA diet you are only limited to one whole grain carb a day…and then no dairy, so the cheese was a dairy overload, then no spices on this diet and the sauce of course is flavored with spices which is what made it so delicious!!!
I enjoyed eating it…but did not enjoy the killer stomach aches and indegestion I had afterwards….
I will just learn to make my own pizza at home that is healthier whenever I am feeling that craving coming on.

belladiamondz & momof4: OMG I am a huge cheese addict, but I had to cut it out completely out of my diet for my bloat to go away completely. I think everyone is a at least a tiny bit lactose intolerant, which accounts for some of the bloat after eating dairy.
I am hugely intolerant to cheese (Cheese, I do not tolerate your antics! lol). I cut it out months ago and it really made a difference. I use soy cheese (without cassein) or cashew cheese. Sometimes when I am craving it, I take little bites of cheese that my bf buys - yogurt cheese from Trader Joes. It’s made differently so it’s easier on your tummy.
Just my two cents about cheeeeese.
Topanga says:
Forgot to add, on a video, TA says dairy is difficult for women to digest. Madonna once said she gave up cheese.
it’s so damn good, though, heh? It’s our enemy!
aanyanka says:
momof4- If you typically eat a lot of cheese then you will definitely see quick results by cutting it out (and any other high fat dairy product). I am lactose intolerant so I cut things like milk and ice cream out of my diet a long time ago. I still eat small bits of cheese on occasion but I feel significantly better since cutting almost all of the dairy products out of my life.
belladiamondz says:
YES I agree with all of you..CHEESE is delicous but it is not good for us. =(
After my incident with the pizza I am looking at it in a different light and I know that it must’nt be that good if it does make us bloat and feel yucky~
Im looking forward to getting out of work and going to workout tonite to tracy!! =)

I also start with a different side everyday I do her Mat or PP just to keep it even.
I love cheese..I don’t eat it too often but its just too good to give up. I love cheesy grits and have found the veggie slices work well instead of real cheese.
I found a love of Rice milk when I switched my son over to it during a bad cold [milk just made him even more clogged and the rice didn't]
Costco sells a big case of Rice Dream [I think its 12] for $16 much cheaper than $4 at the regular store
Reviewer says:
Ren–in regards to your more toned right side…do you start the Mat with the right leg or the left leg? Are you referring only to your leg?
Mof4: Womanizer is the best…that’s what I use for Cardio.
beachlover says:
Hi All!
I also switch sides for the mat - but only for the legs. I know her count on the arms is off as well, but I don’t switch for that section.
I did not work out on Saturday - too much to drink at happy hour on Friday! UGH! Yesterday I did the mat. Tonight I am going to do 2008 dance cardio for about 30 minutes before dinner. Such a busy week plus I am going out of town this weekend so I hope to be able to squeeze in workouts!
Renaissance says:
Reviewer~ Yes, only the leg.. specifically the outer hip/thigh… I start on the left side usually. My left side is catching up now that I’ve started my own counting, which is good. Could be too–I have a bit more flexibility/range of movement with that (right) leg.. could get better results for that reason.
Momof4~~I love “womanizer” as well! lol .. The Veronicas are good too. Nice and upbeat.

Regarding TA’s bad counting…I do as you all do and switch starting side each day.
I’m glad to hear cheese has these bad side effects I’ll hopefully lose now that I’m giving it up. It’s going to be challenging tho b/c I eat it daily and variations of it (cottage cheese/string cheese/am. cheese on my sandwich/shredded cheese in salad etc.) Maybe my 10 lbs will go from this change alone. :O)

dreams4jt: I am moving to the Montebello area
I did the Mat workout for the first time last night and I really enjoyed it. I don’t know if the rest of you experienced this, but when I’m doing leg work, my standing leg feels exhausted long before the working leg feels tired. It’s like the foot I’m standing on starts to hurt instead of the hip/thigh that I’m lifting and twisting!
I did the entire video, but the arms are what did me in. My shoulders were burning and felt crampy halfway through the routines, so I just took mini breaks and got back in and did as much as I could. My shoulders and my abs are pretty sore today, but I don’t really feel as sore in my lower body. Switching legs is good advice, too. Or I’ll just do my own counting and make sure both sides are equal.
I also wanted to mention that I’m really intrigued about the idea of those arm wraps helping with the bat wing. I just couldn’t bring myself spend the $30 on Amazon for them after spending $30 for the DVD, so I racked my brain to think of a cheap alternative and I came up with the idea of using an elbow brace. They’re supposed to be on your arm from your mid-forearm up to your mid-biceps, but I pulled it all the way up to my arm pit and it is the perfect length down to my elbow. They’re made out of the same material as an Ace bandage only it’s stretchier, but it’s very snug. I got a box of 2 for one dollar at the dollar store! I’m sure it will work for the time being as long as there’s something secure holding in my batwings!
