I finally got a chance to catch up on one of my many guilty pleasures, last week’s episodes of The View. Can I just say that I am so very tired of one of the co-host. Sitting up late at night, drinking my tea, ready to listen to some intelligent banter about varied issues and I find myself yelling at the television. I’ve been a serious fan of the show since it aired in 1997. It was originally five women discussing current events,fashion, entertainment etc… The women ranged in age, ethnicity, experiences creating a platform for a delightful exchange of different opinions. As of late, one host has used her position on the show to do free campaign ads for the McCain/Palin ticket. No matter what “Hot Topics” are being discussed, she takes the opportunity to hurl insults, mainly untruths about Senator Obama. She has been involved in heated arguments w/every single one of her co-host including Barbara Walters, about her desire to dominate the conversation to praise McCain and disparage Obama. Last week, she wore a shirt she designed endorsing McCain. As I type, this co-host is planning to campaign in Florida this weekend. I thought the entire point of the view was to be open to share your personal beliefs, while being open to listen to others. The female tweaked tv version of Arthurian legend’s roundtable, where everyone who sits at the table has equal status. There’s some talk that she’ll be interviewing Governor Palin next week, what? Let’s pray not. I don’t mind the fact that she’s a conservative, it’s her inability to listen to any other point of view. I think she needs her own show, the female Bill O’Reilly. I decided not to mention her name, I want you to tune in and identify the host on your own, if you don’t know her name already.
