The Tracy Anderson Method
Mat Workout DVD Review
Well. I’m thinking that it was simple in concept, completely kicked my butt, and I have no idea how it would whip me into any different shape than I’m in. But I will do it again tomorrow. After all, my NBF (new best friend) Gwyneth says she does it 6 days a week and that she “works friggin’ hard.”
Day 2 I go out and walk for 25 minutes. Close enough to the suggested 30. I’m eating very healthy but I’m way over a 1200 calories a day diet. No deserts, sugar, oil, meat. Tracy here I come.
Chair, leg lifts. Darn it. I have to switch legs. Can’t keep up. Fine. I take everything and do half on the right, half on the left. Good thing my dance students can’t see me wimping out. I show them no mercy ever.
Lifting. Have I decided if that’s plywood on the wall behind her? Why didn’t they put her in white or something. Maybe it was the Madonna influence. All black. Lifting. Do I like this song? Will I get tired of it after 40 times?
I have to take a nap again even though I just woke up for the day about an hour ago.
Going through each section, I do the same as Day 1. Tracy rarely talks. I’m not terribly sore. It’s manageable. I go look in the mirror in the bathroom. No change. Same flab.
Day 3 Started with 15 minutes on the elliptical. Do half of her warm-up. I’m doing these legs today. Ahh, still have to cut them in half. Okay, it’s all good.
Just have time for the first half of the standing legs. Oh, I forgot to mention that there are 2 standing leg sections to do. Only doing the no-weight arms and half the lying abs. Have to get to work. What would Gwyneth think?
Day 4 First day to get through all the legs. A miracle. Okay maybe I rested a few seconds. Do most of everything else. Still haven’t done the legs on the mat. Skipping the cool down.
I’m at work teaching dance. I’m doing a move and glance in the mirror and, what?! Do my arms look thinner? They do!! OMG!!! And the top above my waist looks smaller. No way. Yes! It’s true. Wait, I’ve only done this for 4 days though. How’s that possible?
