Now looking at Tracy’s explanation of the combos. The daylight is nice. Too bad it was probably February as the landscape through the windows is barren.
Tracy’s explaining the first dance/first song combo’s steps aka choreography [there are 8 total]. You need a space of about 10’ x 10’. She explains fairly quickly, although she interchanges and misuses the word “step” and other terminology which is frustrating.
A step transfers all the weight to a foot. That’s how we walk…a series of steps. However, sometimes Tracy does a step and sometimes she calls for a step but does a touch which does not transfer the weight. So you’ll have to watch for that. For me, a trained dancer, it’s like being given a speed test with a bottle of lotion and a bottle of liquid soap in front of me to reach for. The tester calls for the lotion to be picked up but they really mean soap and I have to remember they aren’t calling it correctly. UGH. This explains one reason why so many dancers have posted on the Internet that they can’t pick up the choreography.
Now she’s showing it facing us. Now she’s doing it with her back to us and more up to tempo and whoa! this is fast. Choreography shown before in the slow teaching mode is really going to end up bouncing or jumping and some steps are no longer there as they’ve been “rammed” into other steps. Yikes!
Okay, still on the first routine. This is going to require time to go over the slow teaching version to really learn it. I’m trying not to get mad, but this ain’t comin’ easy. But, for my girl Tracy, I’ll do it.
However, I’m going outside to do my walk and then back inside for the mat routine.
TWO DAYS LATER…
Oops. I haven’t made time for the Dance Cardio routine. Not a good sign. Sort of like after a first short date. If you were thrilled by the date guy, you’re sitting by the phone ready for more. If you weren’t too thrilled, you go on with your life and occasionally glance at the phone. Bad dates = praying the phone doesn’t ring. Okay the Dance Cardio falls under not too thrilled but I’m going back into that first dance section again.
What’s wrong with me? All this dance training and I can’t get it. Part of it is the switch from step – touch. I’ve rewound it 3 times and I’m wondering how many dances there are to learn.
